...this wine does not suck. In fact more than worth the $3.

Good ol' three buck Chuck!

It’s worth more than the $3. If you like it than it’s good....bottom line.

If you feel like splurging they sell an organic Spanish wine for $5. It’s called Albero. Good table wine.

Two buck chuck is now $3? Inflation is painful.

Sorry dude, I’m a beer guy.

A good bottle of wine is one you like. Mrs. Ttyymmnn is a fan. Whole Foods has now followed suit.

Founders is my favorite “cheap” beer. I have yet to splurge on their stout though.

Me too. You can be both. Even at the same time, although I usually don’t broadcast that.

Tastes like a $10 bottle.
![]() 12/26/2019 at 20:20 |

I’ll remember that.
![]() 12/26/2019 at 20:20 |

Cool. That would be the first reasonably priced thing Whole Foods ever sold.

Similar to how Goose Island has the 312 wheat beer that’s cheap, there’s also Bourbon County.

Seriously. The pinot is $4. Still, it tastes like a $10 bottle, though not like a $20 one. I count it as a win.

It took a bit to get into beer and not long to grow out of the bud light phase. I just can’t wine into me.

I don’t like that new label, though. When did they change it? The Regular Charles Shaw label was actually rather classy looking. Now it comes out and states that it’s Trader Joe’s House brand? Booo

It's been more than $2 outside of Cali for more than a decade...at least in Indianapolis.
![]() 12/26/2019 at 21:24 |

Wait!...when did it stop being called just Charles Shaw?!
![]() 12/26/2019 at 21:26 |

Woah there....that’s the bottle talking.

If so then it did it’s job.

A rose by any other name still fills my glass.

Don’t actually know.
![]() 12/26/2019 at 22:41 |

Well yeah. I mean....I can’t argue with that aspect of it.
I’m just romanticizing cheap booze, here.
![]() 12/26/2019 at 22:48 |

I haven’t had it in years, but yeah it always was way better than a $ 2 bottle should be.

I think that’s true here in Chicago, too - I just haven’t bought it in a long time.

I’ve been told by wine people that this is used in blind tastings to troll snobs, and to instruct people that price doesn’t matter.

Looks like they aren’t all changed. This was the Pinot I bought.
![]() 12/27/2019 at 00:54 |

I’d believe it. To a certain extent price does matter because the quality of the grapes matters. But it’s well known that wine prices are inflated by labels and fads. People who really do know and love wine know this and applaud value when they see it.

That’s the stuff we used to call two buck Chuck.

Yup, but inflation caught up.
